Description

The Odisha throw blends natural and charcoal in an organic stripe. The colours work effortlessly together, forming a pared - back and timeless aesthetic. The Odisha throw is handwoven, and this is evident in the tactility of its weave. The linen has a 'slubby' feel that is complementented with the appealing stripe design. The neutrality of the charcoal and natural make it versatile, styled over a sofa, as a bed throw or out in the garden in an alfresco setting.

Our Stylist Says

I love this Nkuku throw for its versatile colour palette and natural texture, making it a great addition to both contemporary and traditional interiors. The charcoal and natural linen blend adds a subtle sophistication that works well layered over neutral sofas or beds, adding warmth without overwhelming the space. Its generous size means it’s practical for draping over a sofa for cosy evenings or folding neatly on a bed for added visual interest. For styling tips, try pairing it with textured cushions or earthy-toned accessories to create a relaxed, inviting look, or let its understated elegance speak for itself in minimalist settings. The throw’s craftsmanship and natural fibres make it a practical choice for everyday use while maintaining timeless appeal.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
