Description

Design. Designed with classic English heritage in mind, the Pippin small double bed is elegantly designed to grow alongside your child. Three neutral colour offerings adapt well to suit many styles of interior, great for keeping up with the ever-changing personality’s, likes and dislikes of your youngsters. Elegant finials give the collection a timeless feel while keeping to a simplistic design that’s highly versatile. This small double is ideal for those with more compact living to perfectly accommodate the growing teen. A guaranteed commitment to real quality. You don’t just find quality in the polished grain of hand-crafted wood or soft touch of supple premium leather. Real quality goes more than skin deep to ensure your Barker and Stonehouse furniture remains beautiful, practical and an asset to your home. It’s something we’re very proud of, which is why all our furniture comes with a two-year guarantee with the option to extend to five years should you wish.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Pippin small double bed for its versatile, timeless design that lends itself well to both contemporary and traditional interiors. Its clean lines and understated frame make it a perfect anchor piece in a bedroom that’s styled with simplicity or layered with textures and colour. It works particularly well in smaller rooms or guest bedrooms where space is limited, as its size maximises floor space without sacrificing comfort. For practical styling tips, consider pairing it with cosy linens in muted tones or soft patterns for a relaxed vibe, and add matching or contrasting cushions to create visual interest. Keeping bedside tables minimal, like in the image, helps maintain a clutter-free look, while a stylish bedspread or throw can introduce colour and texture that personalise the space.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
