I’m a big fan of this black velvet Chesterfield bed - its deep button-tufting and low border give any bedroom an instant sense of polished luxury without feeling over-the-top. It works equally well in a contemporary scheme (think smooth matt walls and minimal furniture) or a more traditional setting (rich wood floors, ornate mirror frames).
For styling, keep your linens crisp and light to contrast with the dark velvet - white or pale grey with a couple of jewel-toned cushions for a pop of colour. Add metallic bedside lamps (brushed brass or chrome) and a simple, low-pile rug to ground the look. Finish with a couple of green plants or monochrome prints above the headboard for a clean, balanced feel.
