A fine, curved line, a flexible rod which, as if by magic, keeps an imposing lampshade in the air: this is Twiggy, a floor lamp which has become a cult item which meets an infinite number of requirements in terms of space and lighting. With its strong design, innovation and ingenuity, Twiggy seduces with its aesthetics as much as by its functionality. The result of a collaboration between Marc Sadler and Foscarini, it’s a sophisticated floor lamp yet, at the same time, light and cheerful. The result of research into composite materials, Twiggy has a long, flexible, durable stem like a fishing rod that lets you decentralise the lighting from its base (length between the base and the lampshade: 170 cm). The large lampshade (diam. 46 cm) can replace the use of a pendant by lighting from above. The extreme finesse of the rod means it takes up minimal space so the visual impact is discreet. You can adjust the height of the lampshade by placing counterweights above it (4 counterweights provided). The height varies from 195 to 215 cm. This version equipped with high-efficiency LED light sources has been specially designed from a technical point of view to ensure the same intensity, the same diffusion and the same temperature of light as the original version. The LED cards were specially designed by Foscarini to achieve a very high colour reproduction level (ICR) while maintaining the same tone of light as a halogen source. The lighting is very high-quality: the large, opaque diffuser allows optimal use of the LED light sources that project a direct downward light. What’s more, thanks to the transparency of the upper protective disc, effective upward reflection lighting is produced. Possibility to purchase (ask us) separately an extension kit made up of two rod segments to adapt Twiggy to different contexts: from the shortest configuration, easily usable in confined environments, to the largest version, perfect for characterising large spaces and ideal for public spaces. This kit lets you increase the length between the base and the lampshade (from 185 to 200 cm) as well as the height of the lampshade (from 230 to 280 cm). Its My Light function lets you control and personalise your lighting through an app that can be activated and used via Bluetooth on your smartphone, tablet or your own smart device. It’s very simple to use: just activate Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet, download the free app and switch on your My. Light. Once the light is recognised by the app, you can start switching it on and off, adjust the intensity and colour temperature, and create your own scenographies. The Timer lets you automatically activate or deactivate the scenographies, even when your smartphone or tablet is switched off.
