I’m a fan of the Spica oak TV unit because its herringbone oak veneer and slim black metal legs bring just the right touch of warmth and structure. It sits comfortably in Scandi-inspired, industrial or minimalist living rooms, where its low, linear profile won’t dominate the space.
To style it, keep clutter to a minimum: position a pair of ceramic vases or sculptural bookends at one end, then balance with a slim LED lamp or small plant at the other. Tuck gaming consoles or streaming boxes behind the drop-down doors and use simple cable clips to keep wiring out of sight. Finish with a neutral rug and soft throws to let the oak grain really sing.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
