I’m a fan of this dark mango wood sideboard because its solid build and warm grain bring both character and durability to a room. It slots easily into contemporary, industrial or boho schemes, where the deep tones can be balanced by light walls or contrasted with metal accents.
Styling-wise, treat the top as a display zone - a slim table lamp, a couple of framed prints and a plant cluster will add height and interest without overwhelming the surface. Inside, use woven baskets or labelled boxes to keep dining linens, stationery or media accessories organised. In a hallway or dining area, it’s a practical focal point that won’t date.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
