Our Stylist Says

I love the Petrice Glass Ball Pendant for its modern yet versatile look. The black nickel finish gives it a sleek, contemporary edge, making it ideal for minimalistic or industrial-inspired spaces. It works particularly well in kitchens, dining areas, or open-plan living rooms where you want a statement piece without overwhelming the space. For styling, consider hanging it at different heights over a dining table or in a foyer to create visual interest. Pair it with understated furnishings to let the pendant be the focal point, and ensure the bulbs emit warm light for a cosy, inviting atmosphere. Its reflective glass spheres add a touch of sophistication that can elevate various interior styles.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
