Description

Designed by the German architect Egon Eiermann in 1949, the SE42 Dining Chair is expertly crafted by PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED. Stripping design back to its bare elements, the chair features a beautifully grained natural beech seat resting on three legs in the same material. Showcasing elegant curves and an organically-shaped seat, the SE42 Chair is a timeless design classic that is bound to suit any dining space. One of Germany's most renowned architects and designers, Egon Eiermann had a simple, minimalistic approach to design. Inspired by architects such as Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Walter Gropius, his unique designs are as functional as they are beautiful.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its sleek, modern silhouette combined with the warm, stained black beech finish, which adds a touch of sophistication without feeling too formal. It works well in contemporary or Scandinavian-inspired interiors, especially when paired with minimalist dining tables or paired with bold, colourful tableware for contrast. Practical styling tips include keeping the surrounding decor simple to highlight the chair’s design, and considering soft fabric cushions for added comfort if you plan to use it for extended periods. Its versatile look allows it to blend seamlessly into both adding understated elegance or making a chic statement in more eclectic settings.
