I’m a fan of this slim Prima bookcase for its clean lines and generous shelf height - it’s perfect for living rooms or home offices where you need serious storage without bulk. The matt black oak finish sits comfortably in both Scandi-inspired schemes and more industrial or monochrome interiors, and its adjustable shelves mean you can accommodate tall art books alongside smaller decorative pieces.
For styling, mix colour-blocked books with horizontal stacks topped by a small plant or candle to break up the vertical rows. Introduce woven baskets or fabric boxes on the lower shelves to hide clutter, and leave a couple of areas partially empty to give the display room to breathe. If you’re using it as a room divider, attach a slim spotlight on top to create a warm glow through the shelving.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
