I’m a fan of these nesting side tables for their versatility and clean lines - the slender gold-tone bases contrast neatly with the marble-effect tops, so they suit everything from modern minimal and Nordic schemes to more eclectic, boho looks. They’re ideal for small lounges or conservatories, since the smaller table tucks entirely beneath the taller one when you need to free up space, yet pulls out easily for an extra surface when you’ve got guests.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
