Description

The Zia statement cluster pendant makes a standout centre piece. The collection of six recycled glass tear drop shaped lights at varying heights provides a contemporary altenrative to a chandelier. Style them in an entrance hallway or stairwell as a key focal point, or display above a dining table. Each of these Zia pendants is made from recycled glass, the black fabric cables afixes to an attractive brass ceiling rose.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Nkuku Ziva statement pendant for its modern yet handcrafted look, which adds a touch of understated elegance to various interiors. Its clear recycled glass clusters evoke a sense of natural simplicity, making it especially versatile in minimalist, contemporary, or boho-inspired spaces. When styling, consider hanging it over dining areas or kitchen islands to create a focal point, while pairing it with warm or Edison-style bulbs for a cosy glow. For an eclectic vibe, it works well with mixed metals or layered with other pendant lights at varying heights. Its eco-friendly aspect also makes it a great choice for those aiming to combine style with sustainability.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
