Description

Our Lena Textured Wall Art features braided cotton fibres woven into a beautiful design that adds warmth to your space. The soft neutral and grey tones contrast beautifully with the dark mango wood frame, creating a lovely combination of colours and materials. Inspired by traditional Indian weaving, this piece adds authentic craftsmanship to your home.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this Lena textured art because of its versatile, neutral tone that adds subtle visual interest without overwhelming a space. It works well in both modern and rustic interiors, especially those with natural materials or a muted colour palette. For styling, consider pairing it with other neutral accessories or layered with plants and natural wood furniture to create a cohesive, calming environment. It’s also an easy piece to incorporate in various rooms-above a sideboard, in a hallway, or in a living area-to bring texture and softness to your wall decor. Keep the surrounding styling simple to let the texture of the piece stand out for a balanced and understated look.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
