Description

Upholstered in a boucle yarn fabric, our Moritz II dining chair is a sophisticated and supportive seating option. Robust and responsibly sourced beech wood legs provide a sturdy base, while the gently curved backrest and plump seat cushion ensure a comfortable sit. This chair is easy to pair with both wooden and glass-top dining tables. About our manufacturing partner Our manufacturing factory is based in Italy, in a district where chairs have been manufactured since the end of 1800. It's among very few in the world that monitor its production process following an end-to-end cycle, that's completed according to strict FSC certification. This ensures the chair is responsibly made, from cutting the trunk to the finished product. By choosing this product you are supporting responsible management of the world's forests. The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a global, not-for-profit organisation that helps take care of forests and the people and wildlife that call them home. To learn more, visit fsc.org. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its combination of comfort and modern elegance. The boucle fabric adds texture and warmth, making it a great choice for both contemporary and transitional interiors. The beech wood frame keeps it looking fresh and natural, perfect for pairing with dining tables in wood, glass, or even eclectic settings. For styling tips, try blending this chair with layered textures and neutral tones for a cosy, inviting look, or use it as a pop of colour in an otherwise minimalist scheme. Its versatile silhouette works well in open-plan dining spaces, kitchens, or even as an accent piece in a reading nook or bedroom. Keep the surroundings simple to let the fabric and sleek shape stand out, and consider adding patterned cushions or throws for added personality.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
