Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DAW Plastic Armchair in an ice grey hue showcases the signature 'Eiffel' base between black maple legs and a refreshed colour palette for 2019, paying homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging future aspirations. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking base with black steel cross struts and elegant black maple legs. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DAW has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort. An elegant and distinctive design, the DAW Plastic Armchair is instantly recognisable as an authentic Eames piece and is crafted to exacting standards by prestigious collective Vitra.

Our Stylist Says

The Ice Grey & Black Maple chair offers a sleek, contemporary look that works well in modern or minimalist interiors. I love how the icy grey plastic shell adds a subtle touch of colour, while the black and natural wood legs give it a versatile, understated appeal. This chair is perfect for dining spaces, home offices, or even lounge areas where functionality is key. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral-toned tables or incorporating colourful cushions for added comfort and visual interest. Its clean lines and neutral palette allow it to blend seamlessly in both formal and casual settings, making it a smart investment for a variety of interior styles.
