Allerdale was an imaginary place of William's childhood where he and his friends played their lives of make-believe. William said he was always planning to make things for the house and this delightful console was one of the first things he ever bought. We adore the scalloped edge and the slight whimsy of the piece.

I’m a fan of the Allerdale console for its clean lines and subtle texture - it sits neatly in hallways or behind a sofa without overpowering a room. The weathered oak finish works equally well in contemporary, Scandi-inspired or coastal schemes, adding just the right amount of warmth and character.
To style it, try pairing a round mirror above and a simple ceramic vase with fresh foliage for a welcoming entrance. On the lower shelf or beneath, a woven basket keeps clutter at bay while introducing a natural fibre contrast. Podered neutrals or soft greys on the wall will let its texture really stand out.
