Inspired by a mid-century table owned by William, The Bastian Coffee table is also a nod to the neoclassical. We have redesigned it for contemporary use in an antiqued bronze finish with just the right amount of matt gilding and with a mirrored top for a sophisticated and glamorous look.

I often specify the Bastian table for schemes that blend modern classic with a hint of art deco - its gilded “bamboo” frame bridges organic texture and subtle glamour, while the glass-and-mirror inset injects light and keeps the look airy. It works equally well in compact city flats (where you need a slim footprint) or in larger lounges as a luxe focal point.
Styling tip: anchor it on a neutral, textured rug and place a low stack of art or design books beside a simple ceramic vessel or sculptural object, all onto a small tray to keep things neat. A single-stem bloom in a slim glass vase or a cluster of candles in complementary metallic tones will add just the right dash of colour and warmth.
