Description

This stunning print is perfect for bringing the ocean into your home. Complete with striking hues of blue, this striking print will be a fabulous addition to your collection. This picture is hand embellished with resin and chrome glitter on the glass surface to highlight selective small areas of the picture. This work is also available as a version without glitter embellishments. In an attempt to capture the transitory beauty of life and nature, William Vanscoy's work merges the traditional and digital photographic landscape. His goal is to create a serene self-expressive image that reflects the wonder and peace found in his experiences in life; he believes it's not what's seen but what's expressed that makes photographic art. William's photographs are made using digital capture and extensive digital post-production, sometimes combining multiple photographs to create one realistic image. He was born in San Mateo California (1946) and attended and graduated from Brooks Institute School of Photography (1976-1979) - Awarded Bachelor of Arts Degree. He worked as a professional commercial product photographer in Los Angeles (1979-2004) and has displayed and promoted fine art images since 1996. After changing to Large Format View Cameras he embraced man-made and natural landscape, attempting to emulate artists like Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. Whilst working in Los Angeles as a commercial photographer, Vanscoy stayed connected to his own fine art taking time to photograph in the American Southwest and Europe. In 2002 he made his final commercial image and moved to the Southern Coast of Oregon.

Our Stylist Says

I love this William Vanscoy print for its striking seascape that adds a sense of calm and depth to a space. Its large scale makes it a focal point, so it works particularly well in sizable living rooms or bedrooms with high ceilings. The embellished frame lends a slightly textured, polished finish that elevates its presence in more contemporary or minimal interiors, while also complementing coastal or relaxed styles. To style it effectively, consider pairing with neutral or monochrome accessories to let the artwork stand out, and position it where it can be appreciated at eye level for maximum impact. It's a versatile piece that can bridge between modern, coastal, or even Scandinavian-inspired schemes with ease.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
