Description

Made up of four WHIRL shades, the WHIRL Mini Chandelier in silver is a striking light inspired by the op-art movement and is designed to create abstract patterns through its spiral form. Crafted from lightweight yet durable polycarbonate, each shade is produced using advanced injection blow moulding and vacuum metallisation. Available in gold or silver finishes and in three sizes - mini, small and large - it is compatible with Edison Screw (ES) or LED pendant fittings, making it versatile across different settings.

Our Stylist Says

The Whirl mini is a fantastic choice for adding a modern, sculptural touch to various interiors. I love its playful, dynamic form - it’s perfect for contemporary spaces, especially in open plan kitchens or living rooms where it can serve as a statement piece. It works particularly well in minimalist or industrial settings, where its reflective surface can catch and bounce light beautifully. For styling tips, consider hung at differing heights in a cluster for visual interest or paired with sleek, understated furniture to let the chandelier stand out. When used over dining tables or breakfast bars, it adds a touch of elegance without overwhelming the space. Overall, it’s a versatile and eye-catching element that can elevate the style of any room.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
