Our Stylist Says
I’m a fan of this black velvet bed frame for its clean lines and subtle stud detailing, which make it a versatile base for everything from Scandi-minimal to Art Deco schemes. The muted foam slats mean you can skip a box spring, giving a low-profile look that’s ideal in smaller rooms or under sloped ceilings. For styling, layer neutral linens - think dove-grey or soft ivory - and introduce texture with a knitted throw or velvet cushions in jewel tones. Pair with brass or matte-black bedside lamps and a simple sheepskin rug to soften the floor. This bed also works well against a deep-coloured accent wall or framed by skinny floating shelves to display books or plants.

About The Range
Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
More Than Just Stores
You can find The Range in many places, mostly outside town centres, but also in shopping areas. Some stores have a coffee shop called "Dee Dee's", and others even have a food section from Iceland. And if you like online shopping, The Range has got you covered there too with a big online store.
