Description

One of the most identifiable Tom Dixon products, inspired by the famous space helmet, and by disco balls. Mirror Ball is lightweight yet robust and reflects its environment, projecting downward ambient light.

Our Stylist Says

I love the mirror ball pendant for its striking, reflective finish that instantly adds a touch of glamour to any space. It works particularly well in contemporary and eclectic interiors, where it can serve as both a statement piece and a functional light source. When styling, consider hanging it in a room with neutral tones to let the metallic pop stand out, or group several for a more dramatic effect. It’s also versatile enough to suit above dining tables, in living areas, or even in bedrooms where a touch of luxe is desired. Practical tips include pairing it with dimmable bulbs to control the ambience and ensuring the ceiling fixings are secure, especially for higher ceilings. This pendant’s reflective surface also helps bounce light around the room, making it ideal for spaces that need an extra sense of brightness and elegance.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
