Design. Stonyhurst College was founded in 1593 and remains one of the UK’s most prestigious boarding schools. An adaptation of the Ampleforth collection, Stonyhurst similarly transforms Timothy Oulton’s travelinspired trunks into functional furniture. While preserving all the hallmarks of traditional craftsmanship in its construction and detailing, the collection experiments with a range of innovative finishes including the celebrated Spitfire finish.
The Stonyhurst coffee table is an excellent choice for adding a touch of masculinity and vintage charm to both traditional and industrial interiors. I love how its substantial leather finish and brass accents bring warmth and texture, making it a versatile anchor piece. It works particularly well in open-plan living spaces or paired with leather armchairs and metal accents for a cohesive look. For styling, consider keeping the surface clean with a few statement books or a decorative tray, and use the lower drawers for practical storage of magazines or small accessories. Its sturdy build makes it perfect for both daily use and making a statement in a more relaxed, lived-in environment.
