Description

Design. The Odeon Lighting Collection is a modern day interpretation of Venetian Glass prism chandeliers from the 1960's. These glamourous handcrafted mid century modern lights are inspired by one of the greatest roman architectural feats: the infamous elliptical Coliseum Amphitheatre. The fixtures have superior light dispersion capabilities due to the generous quantity of crystals drops. These opulent crystals are daringly contrasted with natural unfinished iron, pitting the raw masculinity of the finish which bears the marks of the welder's torch against the dazzling femininity of the crystal. These beautiful pieces have been interpreted into many different functional lighting fixtures including floor lamps, table lamps and chandeliers.

Our Stylist Says

The Timothy Oulton Odeon large 7 ring chandelier is a standout piece that offers a modern yet slightly glamorous feel thanks to its streamlined glass design and impressive scale. I love how it brings a touch of luxe to both contemporary and eclectic interiors, making it perfect over dining tables or in grand entrance halls. When styling with this chandelier, consider lighting layers for a balanced look - pairing it with minimal wall lighting or accent lamps can highlight its glass detailing without overpowering. Its versatile grey glass finish works beautifully with neutral palettes, metallic accents, or even deep jewel tones; keep surrounding decor simple to let this statement piece take centre stage. It’s an ideal choice for adding drama and sophistication in larger spaces, but make sure ceiling height is adequate to fully appreciate its impressive form.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
