Price History

Description

Sure to make an impact at any table, the Timothy Oulton Mimi velvet dining chair is striking, glamorous and wonderfully exotic. Filled with sumptuously soft foam and fibre, the generous cushioning ensures absolute comfort for the entirety of your stay. Dressed in plush Acid Jungle upholstery, the chair's seat and backrest are alive with deep, moody hues and pops of vibrant colour. This dramatic pattern is balanced out by simple oak legs in a black finish, whilst studded detailing to the reverse adds an extra layer of decadence. Prepare for indulgence each and every mealtime.

Our Stylist Says

I love this dining chair for its bold, colourful design that adds personality to any space. The velvet fabric lends a luxe feel, while the Acid Jungle print makes it a statement piece, ideal for eclectic or contemporary interiors. It's versatile enough to work well as an accent in a neutral dining scheme or as part of a mixed-material look. Practical styling tips include balancing its vibrant pattern with softer, more subdued tableware and decor, and pairing it with sleek, modern table settings to let the chair truly stand out. Due to its rich velvet upholstery, it's best suited for interiors where it won't face heavy wear or high traffic, making it perfect for stylish, low-maintenance dining rooms or statement corners in living spaces.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
