I’m a fan of this world-map rug for its soft, muted colours and neat 120 cm round shape, which helps define a play or reading zone in a child’s room without overwhelming the space. It sits well in Scandi-style interiors with pale walls and wooden floors, but equally it can tie together more vibrant decor by picking out its accent shades.
For styling, place a low shelf of books and soft toys at one edge, then scatter a couple of floor cushions in complementary tones. Centre a small kid-sized chair or beanbag on the rug to create a cosy reading nook, and consider adding a globe or map-themed wall decal nearby to reinforce the learning angle.
