Description

Rustic features comes together with unique modern design. The perfect blend of wood and metal makes for a strong industrial look which will suit a wide range of interior settings. Seating up to 8 people, the Tegal Dining Table provides plenty of room for entertaining and day to day dining.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Tegal Dining Table for its blend of rustic charm and modern simplicity. Its substantial wooden top adds warmth and texture, making it versatile enough to work in both contemporary and more traditional interiors. It pairs well with a mix of chairs-think linen-upholstered or metal, depending on your style direction-and can easily be dressed with a runner or centrepiece for different occasions. In smaller spaces, it works best with streamlined, slim-profile chairs to avoid overcrowding, while in larger dining rooms, it can be paired with statement lighting above to anchor the space. Practical styling tips include keeping accessories minimal on the table itself to emphasise its natural beauty, while adding a rug underneath can define the dining area and bring everything together.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
