The Little Åland chair in birch from Swedish Stolab is a beloved classic designed by Carl Malmsten. The chair may seem simple in its form, but with soft shapes and turned spindles and finishes, it is a well-crafted chair that has a rightful place among the furniture classics of the 20th century. I’m a big fan of the Åland chair for its clean spindle-back design and solid beech construction in matt black - it brings an understated, timeless look to a space.
