Description

The Soho Semi Flush Ceiling Light is a chic minimalist addition to any modern home. The simple braided cables are contrasted beautifully by the statement glass bulb shades on this industrial fixture. When paired with one of our vintage-style filament bulbs (sold separately) the Soho projects a warm glow of light.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Soho semi-flush in satin nickel for its clean, contemporary look with a hint of vintage charm. It’s versatile enough to work well in both modern and transitional interiors, adding a touch of understated elegance without overpowering the space. In practical styling terms, it’s ideal for rooms with lower ceilings where a pendant might feel overwhelming. For interiors aiming for a more eclectic or industrial vibe, pairing it with exposed bulbs or aged metals can really make it stand out. When styling nearby décor, keep the colour palette neutral or monochrome to let the light fixture remain a focal point, and consider layering lighting with table or floor lamps to create a versatile, well-lit environment.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
