The padded fabric seat cushion is removable, offering comfort while putting on or taking off shoes. Behind the two smooth-opening doors lies a spacious interior with one adjustable shelf—positionable at three heights to accommodate shoes of varying sizes or other stored items. The unit is constructed from high-quality MDF with a grey lacquered finish, complemented by natural bamboo legs and a central bamboo divider for structural support and visual contrast. Metal soft-close hinges ensure quiet, controlled door operation. With a 150kg weight capacity on the seat and a compact footprint (W90 × D34 × H47cm), it maximises storage while maintaining a clean, minimalist aesthetic. Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
