I’m a fan of these mustard-velvet armchairs because their soft, welcoming upholstery and slim, classic arms give a touch of mid-century flair without overwhelming the room. They sit equally well in a pared-back Scandi scheme - paired with pale wood and plenty of white - or as a warm contrast in an industrial loft alongside black metal and exposed brick. To style them, set them around a simple oak table and layer on a neutral jute rug to ground the space. Add cushions in muted tones - think slate grey or dusty pink - to break up the mustard, and introduce a few brushed-brass accessories (candlesticks or a vase) to pick out the warm undertones.
