Design. A cool and contemporary appeal of sophisticated upholstery and an open chrome base, the Rosalind’s curved shaping and modern design are sure to lift your dining décor with sleek, suave vibes. Neat stitch detail is a subtle stylish touch, while its foam padded seat and back deliver when it comes to comfort and support – allowing mealtimes to be enjoyed comfortably, and the dinner conversation to continue long after dinner has been eaten. The Rosalind’s accommodating modern design can be matched with wood, marble and even metal dining tables.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its sleek, understated look and versatility. The grey leather finish makes it an excellent choice for modern and contemporary dining rooms, offering a sophisticated yet neutral tone that pairs well with a variety of colour schemes and table styles. It works particularly well in minimalist, industrial, or Scandinavian-inspired interiors where clean lines and functional design are key. To style it effectively, consider pairing with a textured or patterned tablecloth to add some visual interest, or use a colourful placemat for contrast. Its neutral hue and simple silhouette also lend themselves to mixing and matching with different chairs or adding cushions for extra comfort and personal flair.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
