With a meeting between East and West, the Rituals lamp reinterprets the magic of Japanese lanterns… A challenge: translate the lightness of washi paper from oriental lanterns into glass. A real success thanks to the union of Foscarini's experience and the skill of the Murano master glassmakers. The surface of the lampshade is decorated with horizontal lines in relief of different thicknesses. Highly decorative, these streaks also allow the light intensity to be filtered and modulated. The light filtered through the different thicknesses of the glass produces a superb chiaroscuro effect. The lighting is vibrant, warm and subdued. Made with blown glass, the Rituals ceiling light is the result of great craftsmanship. The glassworking artisan deposits a drop of glass into a mould which forms the shape of the lampshade and the ribbed detailing. The glass is then ground manually and treated with acid to obtain a superb frosted effect. The Rituals lamps can be used individually or grouped into compositions: their soft, rounded forms are complementary.
This ceiling light is a sleek, contemporary piece that works beautifully in modern and minimalist interiors. I love its blown glass design, which adds a touch of craftsmanship and subtle elegance without overwhelming the space. It’s versatile enough to be used in living rooms, dining areas, or even bedrooms, providing a soft, diffused glow that creates a calm atmosphere. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral palettes or contrasting it with darker tones for added visual interest. Hanging a few at varying heights or layering with other lighting fixtures can help create a balanced, harmonious look. Overall, it’s an understated yet striking choice for adding a sense of refined simplicity to any room.
