A blend of printmaking graphic marks with the added tension of rapid, freely drawn linear elements. Known for his use of mixed materials, Kevin Jackson uses etching ink, a single ink roller, masks and a "blunt stick" to create this original abstract artwork. An extension of his 2018 painting 'Turnstile', it is one piece in a sequence made on a variety of hand- and mould-made printing papers. About the artist A Chelsea School of Art alumni, Kevin Jackson is based in London, with some of his work displayed in the city's prestigious British Museum. The artist often creates mixed-media abstract pieces as a way to analyse the place humans have in an increasingly virtual world.
I love the bold simplicity of this remark piece by Kevin Jackson; it’s a versatile artwork that works well in both contemporary and minimalist interiors. Its strong vertical lines and earthy tones make it a great focal point above a neutral sofa or in a hallway to add visual interest without overwhelming the space. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other subtle textured accessories or matte finishes to keep the look understated yet sophisticated. It’s also worth considering its placement where natural light highlights its colour variation, ensuring it becomes a compelling feature that elevates the overall aesthetic.
