I’m a big fan of the Raithwaite bookcase for its simple lines and warm brown-oak finish - it’s sturdy enough to handle a full library yet light enough to sit comfortably in modern or classic schemes. Its slim 30 cm depth makes it ideal for hallways, living rooms or home offices where space is tight but you still want ample storage.
For a balanced look, style each shelf with a mix of books (spine-out and spine-in) and a handful of objects such as small plants, ceramics or framed photos. Tuck woven baskets into the bottom row to hide everyday clutter, and keep heavier items low down for stability. This piece works equally well in a Scandi-inspired flat with white walls and natural textiles, or in a more traditional setting layered with brass accents and leather bound books.
