A true Italian masterpiece, this Q/Wood armchair was designed by Phillipe Starck and crafted from moulded wood. Featuring beautiful sinuous lines and enveloping curves, it’s a modern classic that will instantly transform any interior. This armchair is part of the Smart Wood collection and there are complementing pieces available separately.

I’m a fan of this wood armchair for its pared-back silhouette and mixed-material detail - the gentle curve of the plywood shell feels warm, while the slim chrome legs keep it light. It works equally well in a Scandinavian-inspired living space, a pared-back home office or even a mid-century modern dining area.
For styling, layer a neutral-tone cushion or a small sheepskin over the seat to soften the look, then partner it with a minimalist side table in marble or metal to echo the leg finish. If you’re using several around a table, stick to simple, uncluttered lines elsewhere to let the chair’s shape stand out.
