Returning to ancestral artistic techniques, the tabletops of these nested tables are hand-sculpted from a material that was once widely used and then forgotten. The development of these pieces took a year of hard work. This material called "Mineral" is made from mineral powders, water, earth, natural colour pigments and metallic powders. Its textured surface in relief, as if fragmented, mimics different elements found in nature: tree bark, lava, rock. It’s an extremely tactile material that draws the eye as much as the hand. The surface of the tabletops is hand-sculpted by highly-qualified artisans: this result would be impossible to obtain with an industrial process. The two tabletops have different textures: the larger table has a crackled look, as if split, whilst the smaller table has a grooved look.
