Description
A natural feel and raw beauty for this fantastic stool that has the air of a primitive sculpture! Each item in the Old Times collection is an extraordinary, unique piece, hand-crafted from a single piece of old wood (olive tree) which is then waxed. Just two Italian cabinetmakers work on making the Old Times collection, which requires exceptional craftsmanship. Old Times showcases wood in its raw state: the defects which are generally glossed over here are highlighted and shown off. The knots and irregular contours of the aged solid elm seat are the ingredients of a primitive aesthetic that draws a link between present and past. This stool tells us about those ancient times when men sat on tree trunks and rocks. The minimalist design of the steel rod base superbly sets off the seat. The charisma of the Old Times stool is expressed through a mix of simplicity, modernity and authenticity. Zeus furniture is made by skilled craftsmen in Italy, near Modena. Each piece is made by hand: the metal is cut, assembled, welded and painted by hand. Each item is unique. Steel is a recyclable material and any metal scrap not used during manufacturing is recycled for re-use. Zeus furniture is built to last: highly durable, this furniture can be handed down from generation to generation.
