Description
Deconstructed lightness. Designed by the famous Israeli designer Arik Levy, North is an XXL floor lamp with an extremely light feel. The item was created by deconstructing the light fixture’s various parts. On disassembling its various components – LED source, diffuser, column and base – Arik Levy was able to create a floating light fixture. A sculptural assembly of different elements to create a whole. The light sources and base are separated in space. The traditional idea of positioning the diffuser as close to the base as possible is abandoned in favour of a mobile light fixture that casts a fine, gentle and indirect light exactly where you want it. A long, carbon fibre rod which ends with the lampshade rises from the base at different angles, allowing light to be delivered exactly where you want it. The rod’s angle of inclination is adjustable. You can change the depth and height of the floor lamp by changing the angle of the rod. The height of the lampshade is also adjustable: simply lengthen or shorten the cable from which it’s suspended. Each part fulfils a specific function: the column’s carbon fibre is both light and strong; the LED technology of the light source is efficient; and the aluminium base secures the lamp to the floor. There is a dimmer on the base.
