Description

This versatile bench combines timeless style with gentle pattern. The natural cotton upholstery features a subtle black stripe design, refined and understated, yet full of character. Its slim profile makes it an ideal fit for the end of a bed or a hallway, while the sculptural wooden legs add a touch of elegance. A simple, stylish addition to any space.

Our Stylist Says

I love this bench for its versatile size and understated design, making it a practical addition to a variety of interiors. Its neutral grey upholstery ensures it works well within both contemporary and more traditional spaces, providing a calm, neutral seating option that can be easily styled with cushions or throws. It’s particularly great at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, or even as extra seating in a living room. To style it, consider pairing it with textured textiles or contrasting accents to add visual interest. Its slim profile makes it unobtrusive yet functional, and it’s an excellent option for creating a relaxed, inviting atmosphere without overwhelming the space.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
