Description

The unique shape and rich antique brass of our handcrafted Nalgonda table lamp makes it a striking addition to any room. The decorative pattern has been carefully applied using traditional tools. The lamp showcases the handmade process with an exposed soldered join. These artisan touches and irregularities add an individual charm to each lamp. | nkuku Nalgonda Lamp | Lamps | Antique Brass | Large

Our Stylist Says

I love this large Nkuku Nalgonda lamp for its timeless antique brass finish, which adds warmth and character to a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in both modern rustic and eclectic spaces, bringing an element of understated elegance. A practical styling tip is to pair it with natural textures like woven fabrics or wooden furniture for a cohesive look. Its sizeable form makes it an ideal statement piece on sideboards or consoles, and it’s versatile enough to fit into living rooms, bedrooms, or even hallway schemes where a touch of sophistication is desired. Keep the surrounding decor simple to let the lamp shine, and consider dimming options to create different atmospheres depending on the time of day.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
