Description

Our elegant Nakuru coffee table has a refined yet sturdy feel. Its pared back design adds a sophisticated note, while its size and shape means it’s ideal for arranging in front of a sofa. A practical glass shelf makes it easy to store decorative items while keeping the surface of the table clear for drinks or flowers. The clean, understated aesthetic of this table suits almost any interior but it looks particularly stylish when combined with the rest of the Nakuru collection.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Nakuru brass coffee table because its slim iron frame and clear glass top bring an airy feel to a living room without compromising on style. The warm brass finish works equally well in contemporary Scandi schemes or more traditional settings, especially when paired with muted linens and natural woods. For styling, keep the surface uncluttered: a small stack of design books, a simple tray with a candle or low vase, and perhaps a sculptural ornament to break up the glass plane. If you need extra storage or display space, repeat the material mix with a matching console table behind your sofa to create cohesion.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
