Description

Made in the UK by a family-run business, this scented candle features a bespoke fragrance created exclusively for nkuku. A timeless blend of traditional spiced mandarin, warming clove, and woody cinnamon evokes the joyful scent of the festive season. The vessel is finished in one of Nkuku's iconic textured styles and is designed to be reused as a small vase once the fragrance has dispersed.

Our Stylist Says

I love the nkuku Mandarin & Clove candle for its rich, warm tone that instantly elevates any interior. Its antique gold finish lends a touch of understated luxury, making it versatile enough to sit well in both modern and traditional settings. It works particularly well as a centrepiece on a side table or as part of a cosy vignette with other natural elements. For practical styling tips, I’d suggest pairing it with textured ceramics or metal accents to emphasise its luxe finish, and placing it in areas where its gentle glow can create a calming atmosphere-think living rooms or bedrooms. It’s a great choice for adding visual warmth without overpowering the space.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
