Description

Made in the UK by a family-run business, this scented candle features a bespoke fragrance developed exclusively for Nkuku. Woody notes of eucalyptus and fir, spiced juniper and black pepper are expertly blended to evoke the scent of winter. The vessel is finished in one of Nkuku's iconic textured styles and intended to be reused once the candle has burned through.

Our Stylist Says

This candle, often called the Juniper & Fir, is a versatile piece that works well in both contemporary and rustic interiors thanks to its antique gold finish and earthy scent profile. I love how it adds a touch of understated luxury while remaining approachable - perfect for styling on a wooden coffee table or bookshelf. For practical tips, position it alongside natural textures like linen or wood accents to enhance its organic vibe, and consider pairing it with other botanically inspired decor for a cohesive look. Its warm glow and fragrant aroma make it ideal for creating inviting spaces in living rooms or cosy corners, especially during colder months.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
