Description

With its clean lines and soft olive grey finish, the Laoko planter is designed to elevate indoor greenery. The muted tone provides the perfect contrast to vibrant foliage, allowing your plants to take centre stage. The contemporary shape of these indoor planters work beautifully in modern interiors and can be styled alone or paired with the larger size for a more sculptural effect. A versatile accent with a quietly confident presence.

Our Stylist Says

I love the nkuku Laoko planter for its understated elegance and versatile size, making it a great addition for both shelves and side tables. Its olive grey finish lends itself well to neutral and natural interiors, working beautifully in Scandi, boho, or minimalist schemes. Practical styling tips include grouping different sizes together for visual interest or pairing with leafy green plants like pothos or succulents for a fresh, lively touch. Its simple design allows it to easily blend into various interior styles while providing a stylish container for your favourite greenery.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
