Description

This charming Lancaster Side Table with Shelf will bring contemporary styling to any home. Featuring a useful storage shelf underneath. It's foiled finish and oak veneered top matches perfectly with the rest of the Lancaster range and would be at home in any living or dining room.

Our Stylist Says

The side table is a versatile piece that I love for its understated style and practical size. Its neutral grey finish ensures it works well in contemporary, Scandinavian, or even traditional interiors, adding a calming, neutral touch without overpowering the space. It's ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, or even entryways where you need a compact surface for lamps, books, or decorative accents. For styling, I’d suggest pairing it with uncluttered accessories like a small plant or a sleek lamp to keep its clean lines intact. Its neutral tone makes it easy to blend with various colour schemes and textures, making it a smart, functional addition to almost any room.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
