Description

The Kiran large textured wall art brings a contemporary interpretation of traditional Indian design into the home. Its abstract motif, presented in calming pastel tones, lends a warm, organic aesthetic to any interior. The handwoven surface introduces depth and texture, while the natural mango wood frame offers a sustainable and beautifully understated finishing touch, perfect for living rooms, hallways or bedrooms

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece for its bold yet versatile design, making it a great statement wall art for both modern and more traditional interiors. The textured surface adds depth and interest, especially in minimalist rooms or those with natural, organic tones. It works particularly well above a neutral sofa or in a hallway where it can serve as a focal point. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other textured accessories or simple lighting to highlight its details. Its colour combination of natural and dark blue makes it adaptable to various colour schemes, from understated palettes to more vibrant schemes aiming for a subtle touch of colour.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
