Upholstered in cotton with a subtle woven stripe, this tub-shaped armchair offers a soft yet structured presence. The hand-carved mango wood legs add warmth and a touch of detail. The front two legs are set on castors for effortless movement. A timeless accent for any reading nook or living space, this piece is invitingly comfortable and beautifully crafted.

Our Stylist Says

The nkuku Kiana cotton armchair is a versatile piece that brings relaxation and understated elegance to a range of interiors. I love its natural, neutral tone, which makes it easy to pair with both contemporary and traditional schemes. It works especially well in cosy corners or as part of a layered seating arrangement, thanks to its classic shape and inviting fabric. For styling tips, consider contrasting it with textured throws or colourful cushions to add personality, or position it near a window to create a perfect reading nook. This armchair's understated charm makes it a practical choice for adding comfort without overpowering the overall look.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
