Description

Our Juliyet cushions are beautifully made from wool and cotton for extra softness, with an eye-catching diagonally woven design that adds tactility and texture to this gentle and neutral piece, and showcases the experienced craftsmanship that goes into all our nkuku textiles. The oatmeal, cream hues are complementary to any design scheme and will add a fresh seasonal update to a sofa or armchair. Please note, this is the outer cover only. Available in two sizes. Our will accompany your cushion cover perfectly.

Our Stylist Says

I love this cushion cover for adding a natural, textured element to both modern and boho interiors. Its neutral tones and woven cotton and wool mix make it versatile for layering on a sofa or armchair, especially in schemes that feature muted colours or earthy palettes. It works well as a statement piece when combined with bolder cushions or as part of a more subdued, minimalist setup. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other natural fabrics or textured throws for a cohesive look, and it’s perfect for creating a relaxed, inviting vibe in living spaces. Its 50 x 50 cm size makes it easy to incorporate into various settings without overpowering the overall aesthetic.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
