Description

Our Janka glass tealights have a striking rustic design. Their beautiful organic shape was expertly crafted from recycled glass and the warm amber tones of the smoky glass look even more magical when combined with the glow of candlelight. Their distinctive look is completed by a distressed metallic finish, which makes the tealight look as if it’s been dipped in liquid gold. They come as a set of two - try arranging a mix of sizes to create a stylish display. | nkuku Janka Glass Tealights Set Of 2 | Candles Holders & Lanterns | Dark Amber

Our Stylist Says

I love the Nkuku Janka tealights set for its warm amber hue and handcrafted quality, which add a cosy, inviting feel to any space. These candle holders work particularly well in rustic or bohemian interiors, where their earthy tones complement natural textures like wood, woven fabrics, and soft throws. For practical styling, try grouping them on a wooden tray or side table to create a focal point, or use them as accent pieces on open shelving and mantelpieces. Their versatile colour and size mean they’re perfect for adding ambient lighting in living rooms, bedrooms, or even outdoor settings like patios during the evening.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
