Description

An autumnal update on our classic Ngolo tealight holder, the warm amber hues and textured rustic finish of this design are created from recycled glass, skilfully hand blown into striking organic forms. When lit, they add a beautiful soft glow for an inviting living space exuding peace and tranquillity. Available in three sizes, ideal for grouping together or dotting along a table or a sideboard.

Our Stylist Says

I really like the Nkuku Ngolo tealight holder for its warm amber hue and organic design, which adds a cosy and natural touch to any space. It's versatile enough to work well in both modern and rustic interiors, especially when styled alongside textured textiles or wooden accents. For practical styling, consider grouping a few together on a side table or mantelpiece to create a soft, inviting glow in living areas or bedrooms. It’s also lovely layered with other candle holders of varying heights to add visual interest without overcrowding. The small size makes it perfect for intimate settings or to add subtle ambience to a table setting or shelf.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
