Description

The natural light wood tones of our Dasai mango wood chest of drawers make this a versatile set of drawers that would fit perfectly in a bedroom. The modern design adds a contemporary look with the framework and legs crafted from sturdy iron and the drawer handles have a minimilist rolled bar design. The chest has six practical drawers with plenty of space for clothes. The top of the chest of drawers can be styled with photo frames, a jewellery box and a table lamp for an elegant display. | nkuku Dasai Mango Wood Chest Of Drawers | Bedroom Furniture | Natural

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this mango wood chest for its easy-going warmth and clean lines. The natural grain and slim metal legs sit equally well in Scandi, boho or industrial schemes, making it a versatile storage piece in a bedroom, hallway or living room. Styling tip: keep the surface clear of clutter by choosing two or three objects of varying heights - a round mirror hung above, a ceramic vase with dried stems and a simple lamp work nicely. Grouping items in odds and mixing textures (glass, terracotta, metal) will add interest without overwhelming the chest’s pared-back look.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
